A Major Milestone for the Cape Cod Bridges Replacement Project - Luisa Paiewonsky (Massachusetts Department of Transportation)
On Monday, September 28, state officials announced a major milestone in efforts to replace the aging Cape Cod Bridges, as the Massachusetts Department of Transportation issued a request for proposals (RFP) to construct a new Sagamore Bridge. To recognize and celebrate this significant moment, our tenth episode of Bridge the Gap features a comprehensive project update with Luisa Paiewonsky, Executive Director of Megaprojects Delivery for the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT). While Luisa has routinely joined us on the podcast for a special project update segment at the start of each episode, this full-episode discussion includes a look back at how far the Bridges Replacement Project has come in a relatively short period of time, and details what the public can expect as this historic, once-in-a-generation project moves forward.
Bridge the Gap is a podcast series presented by the Cape & Islands Bridges Coalition (CIBC) in partnership with the Davenport Companies and the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce. The podcast shares information and insights related to the planned replacement of the Sagamore and Bourne Bridges, highlighting the critical role these two bridges play in both the regional and statewide economies.
