The segment began with a review of the data which shows that 1 in 4 “retired” people decide to re-enter the workforce. The wide-ranging discussion included personal stories on the reasons people make the decision to work in their retirement, even when there is not a financial need. The pair also discussed the positive impacts of boosting social security benefits, delaying retirement funds withdrawal, having a purpose in society and the social connections made while working part-time.
